- ELEVEN YEARS AGO in the Chicago Loop, a young woman approached me and asked for a cigarette. I don't smoke. She replied, "Ahh, you look like the right type" and ran off. I'm still following along, checking out your illustrations everyday. I'm just wondering if you write down the things you overhear and use in your illustrations for each day, or if today's illustration (for e.g.) is of dialogue a few weeks ago?? I think your source of inspiration is awesome :) Keep it up.
Hi, Tegan! Thanks for checking in. Yup, the illustrations are from dialogue that day, so I heard this one yesterday and turned it into a drawing. Just curious--of what conversation a few weeks back were you thinking? best. m.
